Today, perhaps more than ever before, A/E/C professionals are expected to fulfill a multitude of roles – utilize innovative marketing techniques, bring in technical work and maintain a healthy backlog, grow their firm’s business sectors, perform the technical tasks with the highest level of expertise, and plan ahead (without a crystal ball) for the next three to five years to grow their respective technical areas. Marketing and BD staff play a critical role in a firm’s success, but we often find ourselves wondering if we’re maximizing that role.
Eric Rensel, a Project Manager that leads Gannett Fleming’s Incident & Emergency Management (IM/EM) Group, has grown this niche service area from one to five people and led the effort to establish a new business service area within the firm. In addition, Eric is recognized as a national expert within the traffic incident management arena, being regularly invited to speak around the country on this topic. During this Meet and Eat, Eric will share his experience and marketing tips on his approach to maximizing his role as seller/doer. He will also discuss the respective value that he feels the technical and marketing/BD staff can provide by viewing themselves as partners.
Eric will be joined by Erin Arva, CPSM, Transportation Operations Outreach Specialist, who initially supported the IM/EM Group from the corporate marketing side, but later transitioned to more of a technical role and joined the group. She will share helpful insights on what she’s learned, now from “the other side,” and how this can translate into providing more proactive and effective marketing/BD services within your firm.
Join us for this interactive discussion, and share your own experience and tips on this timely topic!
