The ins and outs of award submissions are unique to each program. This session will break down the local SMPS Marketing Communications Award (MCA) program, covering what you need to know, how to write an entry that will speak to the selection team and make it a viable contender for success in its submission category. This local MCA program provides entrants feedback, setting up your submission for the HQ’s national program. Long-time SMPS member and MCA reviewer, Afton Pascal, CPSM, will walk you through the best practices and lessons learned from the national MCA program and others.

*Note: This year's local MCA submission will be due at the end of November instead of the end of December.

Learning objectives:

  • Making a go-no go decision about whether and what to submit
  • Researching past winners and juries
  • Creating impactful written content within word count constraints
  • The value of imagery in supporting the narrative
  • Gathering supplemental data to make your case
  • Important dos and don’ts to increase your chances of having a winning submission
